The Sóller train resumes service next March
After this winter's technical stop, the Tren de Sóller will resume its passenger service between Sóller and Palma on the 1st of March.
This temporary closure of the railway service is motivated by our vocation to conserve our heritage, preserve our values and improve our services. Infrastructures with more than a century of history require maintenance and repair work on tracks and convoys every year.
The work focuses on the rehabilitation of tracks and installations. During the technical stop, all the staff of the Ferrocarril de Sóller company become a team of true craftsmen who with care and dedication maintain equipment more than 100 years old in a perfect state of use, repairing and replicating the different parts of carriages and engines so that they continue to perform their original function.
In addition, during these weeks of service suspension, reinforcement work has also been carried out on a tunnel in the Buñola area and on a viaduct at the entrance to Sóller station.
On the other hand, the tram covering the Sóller-Port de Sóller route resumed services on the first day of February.
