The best climbing routes in Mallorca

Mallorca is not only famous for its dreamy beaches and vibrant culture, but also for its exciting climbing scene. We invite you to discover three of the most exciting rock climbing areas in Mallorca that are not to be missed for climbing enthusiasts. 

S'estret

Among the numerous climbing areas that this beautiful Balearic island has to offer, S'estret stands out as a paradise for natural rock lovers. Located in the northern part of the island, it is considered special in the area and with a great variety of both simple and more complex climbing routes around this jewel of Mallorca.

S'estret is one of the most outstanding climbing areas. It is ideal for both summer and autumn. This area offers climbers routes of a more sporting nature than bouldering, together with stunning natural surroundings that make sport climbing here an unforgettable experience.

How to get to S'estret:
S'estret is located in the northern part of Mallorca, near the town of Valldemossa, about ten minutes' drive from Palma. This privileged location combines the thrill of climbing with the natural beauty of the Mediterranean coast. 

To reach Sa Gubia from Valldemossa, drive three kilometres to a bridge on the left to park. Go up a wide dirt road, avoiding a gate. After 100 metres, take a left turn at a bend. Walk another 100 metres and you will find the climbing wall on the left between the trees. There you can start climbing. Don't forget to bring the right equipment and respect the natural environment.

This privileged location combines the thrill of climbing with the natural beauty of the Mediterranean coast. 

 

Sa Gubia

Sa Gubia is a climbing area located in the central area of Mallorca. It is known for its mainly sport climbing routes, as well as its stunning natural beauty and the wide variety of climbing routes it offers, the best time to go is between spring and autumn. 

Here, climbers can enjoy challenging ascents amidst spectacular surroundings. The limestone walls rise majestically above the landscape, giving climbers unique panoramic views of the island.

How to get to Sa Gubia:

To reach Sa Gubia by car from Palma to Bunyola drive to approximately next to the junction to Bunyola, you will find a large car park. Once parked, cross the road and take the first asphalted road on the right (Camí Vell). Walk for about 300 metres until you find another road on the right. Continue along the dirt road for about 600 metres until you reach a stream bed and take the path marked by the milestones according to the climbing sector you want to access in Sa Gubia.

 

Gorg Blau

The Gorg Blau is an artificial reservoir located in the Tramuntana mountain range, which makes it an ideal area for outdoor climbing.

It offers a wide range of sport climbing routes that vary in difficulty. Climbing accompanied by the unique views of the Gorg Blau becomes an unforgettable and highly recommended experience. The rock formations amidst the natural beauty of the Gorg Blau provide a unique climbing experience.

How to get to the Gorg Blau:

The most popular way to get there is via the Lluc road. The reference point is the town of Inca, from there drive up to Lluc and go in the direction of Sóller-Sa Calobra and in 8 kilometres you will reach the turn-off to Sa Calobra, where you can park. Once on foot, find the entrance barrier, go around it to the left and a few metres further on you will find a path. After about 200 metres you will be able to start climbing. 

Mallorca is made up of a multitude of mountain climbing areas to enjoy alone or in company. These areas not only offer exciting climbing routes, but also some of the most impressive and exciting views of the whole island.
